Workflow
Phase 1: Visual research and thumbnails
Conceptual phase. Interpret the script based on research and your unique vision. Gather reference materials for characters, settings, props, and period details.

Phase 2: Pencil art and lettering
Scripts are often wordy to practice storytelling while managing word balloon placement and reader flow. Letter first, then pencil around the text.
- Create 10×15" pages with borders

Phase 3: Inking
After instructor feedback and sign-off, finalize artwork with professional inking techniques.

Phase 4: Production
Format pages for print and web following Photoshop production instructions.
- Scan at 600 dpi
- Clean up in Photoshop (levels, corrections)
- Resize to print dimensions
- Export TIFF for print, PNG for web
